Our Work
Ebenezer recognised the importance of building confidence and fostering self-sufficiency. A key component of this is empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their own health, echoing the principles of primary healthcare advocacy in the UK. Through education, awareness, and accessible health-related programs, Ebenezer equips the community with knowledge and resources to take charge of their physical and mental wellbeing.

Senior Game Day
Senior Game Day is a fun and engaging activity designed to promote mental stimulation and social interaction among older adults. Through a variety of games and group activities, participants can sharpen their cognitive skills, connect with others, and enjoy a lively, supportive environment that helps reduce loneliness and foster community spirit.

Life Story Program
The Life Story Program supports older adults in reflecting on and sharing their personal histories through guided life review and reminiscence. This meaningful process encourages individuals to explore their memories, celebrate their experiences, and make sense of their life journey — enhancing emotional wellbeing, self-worth, and communication skills.
In the context of dementia care, the program offers significant benefits. Life story work helps stimulate long-term memory, promote cognitive engagement, and provide comfort through familiar recollections. It also supports caregivers by offering deeper insights into the individual’s background, values, and personality — enabling more personalized and compassionate care.
Beyond its cognitive and emotional benefits, the program strengthens intergenerational relationships, preserves cultural identity, and fosters a sense of belonging — building stronger, more connected communities.

Dementia Awareness Seminar
Developed in collaboration with the Dementia Research Centre at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College London, these seminars aim to raise awareness and understanding of cognitive health issues within the community.
The sessions provide valuable education and support, empowering individuals, families, and caregivers to make informed decisions, advocate for better care, and improve the quality of life for those affected by dementia.

Volunteer-Led Courses and Workshops
Our volunteer-led courses and workshops are designed to help individuals enhance their existing skills, build confidence, and strengthen teamwork abilities. By co-creating these programs with our volunteers, we uncover and nurture their potential while fostering a spirit of collaboration.
We have worked closely with a number of dedicated volunteers to develop a variety of engaging offerings, including a Chinese Drum Course, Pastel Nagomi Art Workshop, Tai Chi Course and Flower Arrangement Workshop — catering to both seniors and the wider community.

Volunteering with Local Charities
We believe that volunteering plays a vital role in enhancing mental health and wellbeing. It encourages individuals to engage in meaningful activities that promote connection, physical movement, mindfulness, lifelong learning, and the joy of giving back.
We actively connect our volunteers with opportunities to support a range of community events organized by local charities. These include initiatives such as Warm Welcome Week, the Wandsworth Older People's Forum, visits to sheltered housing, and more.
