Founded by Hongkongers, Ebenezer began with a mission to support new migrants from Hong Kong as they settled into life in the UK. Over time, our work has grown, but one thing remains at the heart of our mission: building a compassionate, connected community where no one is left behind.

 

A key part of this vision is our deep commitment to enriching the lives of senior citizens. We believe that every older adult deserves dignity, purpose, and connection. Through tailored programs and meaningful volunteer engagement, we promote well-being, independence, and a renewed sense of fulfilment among the elderly — ensuring they continue to be valued, active members of our community.

While our roots are in supporting new arrivals from Hong Kong, we quickly recognised that many other Chinese-speaking migrants face similar challenges. In response, we expanded our work to serve the wider Chinese community, offering a welcoming and inclusive support system for all who need it.

 

At Ebenezer, we also focus on long-term empowerment. By aligning with the UK Charity Commission’s principles of charitable purpose, we strive to build community capacity — equipping individuals with the skills, networks, and confidence to thrive. Through volunteering and civic participation, we strengthen local support systems and help our community grow in resilience, unity, and hope.
